About the Role
As a Corporate Purchaser at Ascom, you will be responsible for selecting the best suppliers and negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts that impact our global operations. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure optimal price, quality, lead-time, and flexibility for all purchases. Your expertise will help drive operational excellence and innovation across our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and execute supply projects.
- Request, collect, and evaluate supplier quotes for products, services, and software - including tooling and manufacturing equipment.
- Negotiate prices and conditions and manage commercial contracts.
- Evaluate, steer manufacturing processes, recommend, and select manufacturers/suppliers according to Ascom’s sourcing processes.
- Identify and recommend future suppliers and ODM/EMS partners.
- Cooperate with other functions and stakeholders within Ascom.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with internal standards and guidelines .
- Supply Chain sustainability reporting.
Required Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Intermediate experience with vendor management software and ERP systems.
- Advanced knowledge of design and process principles in electronics, mechanics, or mechatronics.
- Advanced skills in sourcing and vendor management, contract negotiation, and supplier/customer relationship management.
- Intermediate understanding of lean production and collaboration skills.
- Advanced decision-making and fluency in English
- Degree in Purchasing and Logistics, technical degree, or equivalent working experience.
- 6–10 years’ experience in sourcing or procurement, including contract negotiations and legal aspects.
- 1–2 years’ experience in IT, telecommunications, or healthcare sectors.
- Proven track record of building and developing supplier relations and a strong supplier base
