Keep our business applications healthy, secure, and continuously improving
As an ICT Software Engineer with focus on Application Management and Jira Administration, you’ll take ownership of key enterprise applications, including our Jira ecosystem. You’ll coordinate changes, ensure robust operations, and drive enhancements that users love. You’ll still code where it adds value (primarily .NET/C#, SQL, and Groovy), but your superpower is turning requirements into stable, supportable, and well-documented solutions that stand up in production.
What you’ll manage & deliver

- Develop automation solutions using ScriptRunner (Groovy) and native Jira Automation.
- Ensure compliance with naming conventions, access control, and configuration standards.
- Manage Jira Assets (formerly Insight), including asset relationships and lifecycle workflows.
- Integrate Jira with Azure Active Directory and Microsoft services for automated provisioning and governance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to align asset schemas with enterprise architecture.
Confluence Administration
- Manage spaces, permissions, and templates to support documentation and team knowledge sharing.
- Integrate Confluence with Jira for seamless project tracking and reporting.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner with ICT, R&D, QA, and business teams to translate goals into efficient Jira boards, dashboards, and metrics.
- Use JQL and Jira dashboards to track Agile metrics such as velocity, cycle time, and throughput.
- Maintain documentation for Jira configurations and provide support/training to end users.
Application Lifecycle & Reliability
- Manage and administrate enterprise applications, ensuring robust performance and minimal downtime.
- Translate user needs into maintainable solutions with clear specs, testable code/config, and rollback plans.
- Promote and build automation and self-service flows
- Carry out functional/non-functional testing across environments.
- Troubleshoot integrations and optimize performance across apps, databases, and interfaces.
What you’ll bring
- 3–5+ years of hands-on Jira administration experience.
- Proficiency with ScriptRunner, Groovy scripting, Jira Automation, and JQL.
- Experience with Confluence administration and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Exposure to enterprise security practices, SSO, and role-based access models.
- Fluent English, written and spoken
Wanted competencies
- Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-600, ACP-610).
- Strong documentation discipline and SDLC mindset.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and diplomatically.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Familiarity with .NET/C# and Microsoft SQL for light development and support tooling.
Why this role matters
You’ll be the steady hand behind applications used globally — keeping them reliable today while shaping what they become tomorrow. It’s an individual contributor role with global reach and a direct line to tangible business outcomes.
At Ascom, you’ll be part of a global team that values innovation, collaboration, and personal growth. We offer:
- A chance to work on impactful projects that shape the future of ICT operations
